Information for users of Windows 3.0. BirdData was developed using Windows 3.1. It has only had limited testing under Windows 3.0. The best course is of course to upgrade to 3.1, since you will get many other benefits. If that is not an option, please notify the author of any problems you have running the program - there may be workarounds. One specific problem is that BirdData uses a Windows 3.1 file called COMMDLG.DLL for printer setup, fonts, icon file management, and color selection. The program may be run without using these toolbox functions, or it is possible to obtain the file. It is usable with Windows 3.0 and is freely distributed by Microsoft. If you received BirdData on disk from the author, COMMDLG.DLL is included. If you downloaded the program from a BBS, the file is not included. Check the same BBS for the file, as it may well be there. Don Bradner August 16, 1992
